Race simply can not be ignored.
I’m exactly about interracial relationships — so long as the folks inside them know about exactly just how competition forms power characteristics, and consequently contour our love life.
I cannot stress how much you have to step up to the plate and really pay attention to racial dynamics if you’re a white woman who ends up dating a queer woman of color. All the same and that love is love is love no matter the identities of the people involved in a relationship, our love lives simply don’t exist outside of the suffocating social norms and various -isms that shape our culture while it’s obviously easier to act like we’re.

1. You can’t ignore competition
Once more, it is so appealing for all white visitors to simply behave like competition is not an issue. It’s appealing because it’s such a pain to have to deal with for us women of color, too. Or, must I state, more accountable than in the past. Because, as a person that is white you’ve for ages been accountable for calling away racism while you notice it.
